nextech
The Nextech Corporation was founded in 1992 as GAU Entertainment, it later merged with Nextech, which was acquired by SEGA in 1997. They were a premier Japanese outsource partner, until their closure in 2016.
INFO
The involvement of the Nextech Corporation with Resident Evil: Code Veronica came about when the team at Capcom was having trouble developing the title for the Sega Dreamcast. Along with Nextech, many Sega engineers also helped in the development of Code Veronica.
Besides Capcom, Nextech had many high-profile clients in Japan. Such as Sega, Namco, Takara, Taito, Atlus, and Square-Enix. Some of their top projects included Time Crisis 3 & 4, Dino Crisis, Shenmue, Bayonetta & Shin Megami Tensei: Nine. They have also been categorized as a “Ghost Developer”.
Nextech also helped port the original Resident Evil to the Sega Saturn, along with the other console ports of Code Veronica.
They also helped develop Gun Survivor 2, using many of the same assets already available in Code Veronica.
